ABOUT THE COMPANY
Lauren Hale Dance (LHD) has been in existence since 2004, when company founder Lauren Hale graduated from the Master of Fine Arts Program in Dance at NYU’S Tisch School of the Arts. Since then, the company has performed in venues and festivals all over New York City and the boroughs and has held residencies at colleges, high schools, and dance companies along the East Coast. LHD is also a part of ThisThat Dance Collective along with two other companies, Jessica Gaynor Dance and Aimee Rials and Dancers. Collectively, ThisThat has produced and presented two full-length concerts, In Relation in 2006 at the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio and Abstract Sense in 2005 at Triskelion Arts. Most recently, LHD presented a new work, Naomi and Ruth, at the Museum of Biblical Art. Lauren Hale Dance is happy to be supported by The Field, a not-for-profit Manhattan-based arts organization providing artists with creative support and fiscal sponsorship. 

ABOUT LAUREN HALE
Lauren Hale is the founder and director of Lauren Hale Dance and is co-founder of ThisThat Dance Collective. In 2002, Lauren graduated magna cum laude from Brown University, where she studied modern and West African Dance extensively and was the recipient of the Westin Fine Arts Award. Lauren graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in May 2004. During her two years at Tisch, Lauren presented four original works, was a member of the Second Avenue Dance Company, and studied Video Dance with Andrea E. Woods. Since 2004, Lauren has acted as Guest Teaching Artist and Choreographer for the Chattanooga Ballet, Brown University’s Dance Extension, and the Mercersburg Academy. In New York, Lauren has presented works at Tisch, The Cunningham Studio, Triskelion Arts, the DUMBO Arts Festival, Cool New York Dance Festival, the Williamsburg Arts Nexus, and Jennifer Muller/The Works HATCH Festival. She has also co-produced two evening length concerts with ThisThat Dance Collective and recently premiered a new piece at the Museum of Biblical Art. Lauren has worked with Noel MacDuffie Performance, Moving Theater, and currently dances for Aimee Rials. Lauren is also a registered yoga teacher with an advanced certification at the 500 hour level.
